Michael Ward

As one of the premier jazz violinist in the business Michael Ward has taken the violin to another level in jazz, funk and R&B. Michael is a native of San Antonio Texas where he played the violin in the San Antonio Youth Symphony, the San Antonio Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and the Trinity University Community Orchestra. Michael left San Antonio to attend Southern University in Baton Rouge La. where he studied with world renowned musician and educator Alvin Batiste. Michael has toured many countries including Italy, France, Turkey, Spain, Brazil, Japan, Canada, Mexico and many others. Michael has performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival for the past 25 years. Over the span of Michael's career he has worked with some top musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Ronnie Laws, Kurk Wylum, Marion Meadows, B.B. King, Bonny James, Norman Brown, Najee, Gladdis Knight and Howard Hewett.
