Deeming themselves as appreciators of good music in its entirety and cross genres at that - the two music producers, born Kgomotso Motshegoa aka "KG" and Tshepo Diseko aka "Kevin Deep", both hail from Soweto, South Africa.
They met up at tertiary level in the year 2004 while studying Sound Engineering and their love for music was to see them team up in 2005, to create the outfit "85 Bliss." The name 85 Bliss is derived from the year in which they were born (1985) and the two are hopeful that this musical journey that they have embarked on will be one of "blissful" memories along with their fans whom they consider their musical family.
Forever trying to carve out a niche for themselves in the music industry, they consider their music as that…Music! - 85 Bliss' sound is reach in jazzy chords; soul deep in samba rhythms and highly influenced by African drums & chants.
We both enjoy marinating in the creative process of making music as it allows us to be ourselves, slave up to creativity and dwell in possibilities of creating something that can become timeless notes Kgomotso.
We enjoy remixing and reworking old standards and other forms of music and include this in our live performances of digital new age deejaying sets which are coupled with live instrumentation that includes an array of contemporary instruments such as saxophones, keyboards and violins.
They have a profound love for lounge and house music and anything that has its musical roots firmly based in jazz explains Tshepo. Our influences include Louie Vega, Roy Ayers, Glenn Underground, Jamie Cullum, Blaze, Pat Metheny, Fela Kuti, Rasmus Faber, The Rurals, George Duke and Tortured Soul to name a few.
