The Gauteng Jazz Orchestra has been established through partnering with the Music Academy of Gauteng Jazz Orchestra under the leadership of Johnny Mekoa. The Gauteng Jazz Orchestra is Barney Rachabane (saxophone), Khaya Mahlanga (saxophone), Sidney Mavundla (trumpet), Johnny Mekhoa (trumpet), Bheki Mbatha (trombone), Jabu Mdluli (trombone), Nkanyezi (drums), Mduduzi (piano) and students who have graduated from various jazz programmes.
