Brussels Jazz OrchestraThe Brussels Jazz Orchestra (BJO) was founded in 1993 by Frank Vaganée, Serge Plume and Marc Godfroid. They recorded their first CD in 1997 and have collaborated with some well-known composers and arrangers of the international jazz scene including Maria Schneider, Dave Liebman, Bill Holman, Kenny Werner, Bob Mintzer, Kenny Wheeler, and with guests like McCoy Tyner, Phil Woods, Tom Harrell, Wallace Roney, Norma Winstone, Gianluigi Trovesi, Philip Catherine, Jeanne Lee, Toots Thielemans, Lee Konitz, David Linx, Gustavo Bergalli and Richard Galliano. They play in numerous festivals in Europe and in the US, where Downbeat placed them 8th in the critics’ poll in 2004. The Brussels Jazz Orchestra is Frank Vaganee (saxophone), Dieter Limbourg (saxophone), Kurt Van Herck (saxophone), Bart Defoort (saxophone), Bo Van Der Werf (trumpet), Serge Plume (trumpet), Nico Schepers (trumpet), Pierre Drevet (trumpet), Jeroen van Malderen (trumpet), Jos Machtel (acoustic bass), Natalie Loriers (piano), Klass Balijon (drums), Marc Godfroid (trombone), Lode Mertens (trombone) and Laurent Kendrick (trombone).

• The BJO perform with Tutu Puoane on the Dinaledi Stage on Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27.
